The Mississippi River Brass Band is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States. It is a thirty-member band populated on the instrumentation of the traditional British Brass Band. The instruments of the band are cornets, flugelhorn, euphoniums, baritones, trombones, tubas and percussion. The band is composed of some of the finest brass players in the United States. The members come from all parts of the US for goodwill touring throughout Europe. Many of the band members hold advanced performance degrees from major universities on their instrument. The band has helped raise thousands of euros to benefit the charitable causes of Rotary Clubs in Germany and Poland. The Mississippi River Brass Band can play a wide variety of music, from sacred to classical to pop and jazz. On previous trips to Europe they have performed in many venues, from beautiful churches like the Collegiate Church of Dinant, in Berlin and Paris, scared cemeteries in Normandy, beer gardens in Germany, castle gardens, in Prague and city squares in The Czech Republic and Poland and traditional concert halls.

In Europe, The Mississippi River Brass Band has performed:

  • At the Castle Gardens in Prague, Czech Republic,
  • In Zlin, Czech Republic as a special guest of the city,
  • On three separate occasions in Zelec, Czech Republic,
  • Two benefit concerts for the Rotary Club in Krakow,
  • Poland In Zakopane, Poland,
  • In Vienna, Austria,
  • In Salzburg, Austria,
  • Two separate benefit concerts for the Rotary Club in Ingolstadt, Germany,
  • In Berlin, Germany in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church
  • In Leipzig, Germany at the J.S.Bach Memorial In Gross Umstadt, Germany
  • In Normandy, France in Bayeux and Vitre sur Mar
  • In Blois, France At La Madeleine Church and Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, France

The band’s conductor, Dr. Jack Stamp, is known throughout the world as a conductor and composer of band music. When not conducting the Mississippi River Brass Band he serves as a guest conductor and music clinician for bands throughout the United States.
